Casemate to see advance screening of HBO’s The Pacific

Just to give you a heads up, Casemate will be attending an advance press screening of HBO’s forthcoming series “The Pacific”, due for release in the USA and UK in March and produced by Emmy award-winning “Band of Brothers” team Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman. Held in London on 9th February, Casemate UK will be shown episodes 1 and 2 and I will post a review for you as soon as is humanely possible.

Airing in the UK on Sky Movies in high definition (the series has been shot entirely in HD) the series is 10 episodes long and cost $200 million. Visit World War II Re-enactor’s Magazine’s website to see the latest trailer.

The Pacific tracks the intertwined odysseys of three U.S. Marines – Robert Leckie, Eugene Sledge and John Basilone – across the vast canvas of the Pacific war campaign during World War II.
The experiences of these men and their fellow Marines take us through the first clash with the Japanese in the bitter jungles of Guadalcanal, through the devastating island battles of Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima, to the victorious return home after V-J Day.
