So then, what did those of you in the UK get up to on your well-deserved extra days’ holiday? Us here at Casemate UK headed down to The County Showground, in Detling, Kent, to exhibit at leading Living History show, Military Odyssey.
We saw many people in uniform all weekend, with Hussars, Tommies, Knights, Romans, Greek Hoplites and many more. With re-enactments, living history displays, fly-bys and many militaria, book and clothing stands, it was a great way to spend a bank holiday. You could also start a Spitfire, get your free copy of leading sponsor WWII Reenactment Magazine, entertain the kids with the various toy guns, swords and shields on offer, and make yourselves sick on Hog Roast, Fudge and icecreams if you felt that way inclined. Ahem.
One of our retailers, Paul Meekins Books also attended, with his vast collection of military and history books for sale. Paul’s next show is Newbury and Reading Wargames Society’s show Colours, in Casemate UK’s hometown of Newbury, so be sure to check out his stand if you’re attending. He’ll even have some advance copies of Casemate books for sale!
