We’re pleased to announce that Robert Tonsetic’s newest title Special Operations in the American Revolution is now available from Casemate!
After writing his previous title on the American Revolution, 1781: The Decisive Year of the Revolutionary War, Tonsetic has now turned his sights on to the numerous examples of special operations conducted during the Revolutionary War. At the beginning of the American Revolution, colonial troops were continually defeated by the well-trained British Soldiers. However, a few years later, with the aid of frontier-fighters trained with the skill of unconventional tactics, General Washington’s army was able to hold off the advantage of the British troops.
By describing and analyzing these special operations, Tonsetic explains why these operations were an integral parts of Washington’s strategy, and how these operations in turn have used to educate modern day Special Operation forces.
